Homework is set once a week for most subjects. We use an evidence-informed approach to homework. This tells us that scholars should be set homework which helps them to consolidate knowledge and skills taught in school. So, most homework is set on this basis. Occasionally, more extended projects may be set.
Scholars can expect one hour of homework a week in most subjects. Homework days for subjects are spaced out so that deadlines are not all at the same time. Most homework is set online using adaptive packages such as Hegarty Maths and Educake. This enables quicker monitoring by teachers.
Satchel One is our homework portal. It enables parents / carers and children to keep abreast of homework set and upcoming deadlines.
To support with homework, lunchtime clubs are offered where help and equipment is on hand to aid scholars. At home, scholars will require a computer device to complete homework and a quiet place to study. Parents / carers can support by taking an active interest in homework set.
Scholars are also asked to read every evening for at least twenty minutes.
